We are seeking a motivated & enthusiastic individual to be part of our culinary team!
We are a leading plant-based health food spot based in Sea Point. We are searching for a professional head chef / restaurant manager to prepare food to the exact standard and quality specifications formed by our management team while monitoring the general restaurant operations.
You will also be leading a small kitchen production team while maintaining an overall view on kitchen and restaurant management processes and efficiencies.
Previous supervisory experience in a restaurant and kitchen or culinary department.
Full knowledge of methods, procedures and quality standards relating to company menus as well as basic kitchen procedures and terminology.
Able to make use of company policies to successfully uphold quality and consistency in all menu items prepared and served.
Able to effectively showand communicate the quality mission of the company to all associates.
Able to communicate work-related information to co-workers and supervisors.
Able to visually inspect, taste and smell product to make sure that freshness and quality is there.
Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors if necessary.
Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels.
Essential Job Functions
Hire, coach, counsel and conduct performance evaluations of staff.
Manage production kitchen and complete a general overview of day’s production.
Appoint production teams and team leaders.
Determine priorities of production staff.
Supervise production staff to insure efficiency, quality, cleanliness, organization and proficiency.
Make sure that the quality of food produced by all team members while complying with the specified time limits.
Maintain inventory of production equipment, and communicate any worries or needs.
Insure proper sanitation guidelines are maintained.
Any other assignments as delegated by senior management.
Perform all reasonable requests from the management team.
Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
Follow proper time-keeping policies and procedures.
