We are looking for Reputation & Smart Drinking Manager to based in Johannesburg.

The key purpose of this role is to prepare and implement plans and projects to (I) proactively improve the reputation of our local corporate brands and (ii) further our agenda of Smart Drinking, in Nigeria, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia, Uganda, Botswana, Ghana and Namibia. As all projects will be executed in local markets, the role holder will be required to work collaboratively with Zone (regional), local teams media consultants and other functions, to achieve results.

The key responsibilities of the Reputation & Smart Drinking Manager (but not limited to):

Based on insights from our reputation reports and the local teams, further develop regional reputation plan and work with BU/Country teams to implement in eight Africa markets

Together with a comms agency which the role-holder will manage, prepare and implement tailored per country external communications plans for eight Africa markets, working with BU/Country teams

Liaising between the Global Smart Drinking team and local BU/Country teams, implement global Smart Drinking best practices in Africa and highlight Africa best practices to other markets globally. Implement innovative Smart Drinking initiatives

Track KPI’s for success and develop monthly reports on progress on above projects

Manage media/communications consultants to deliver cost-effective and value additive work, providing expertise that cannot be found in-house

The reputation of each of our corporate brands in Africa is of critical importance to our company prospering in the longer term. Having a proactive plan in place, implementing it and tracking KPIs is critical to achieve our desired reputation uplift

Communications plans support the reputation plans in ensuring our reputation-enhancing messages and initiatives are received and understood by our stakeholders, the media and the general public.

Smart Drinking was identified as the key reputation driver in almost all of our markets across the Zone (Africa region). Ensuring we have effective and innovative Smart Drinking campaigns in place will assist with reputation uplift of our corporate brands

Setting clear objectives for consultants and ensuring these are delivered

Ensure projects are on-track and delivered according to set targets

The ideal candidate is someone who is holds a university degree and work experience that would equip the candidate to do the role

University degree and work experience that would equip the candidate to do the role

Strong planning, project management and organizational skills

Good PowerPoint, writing and communication skills

Ability to work under pressure, with good time management skills

Proactive ability to brainstorm, develop and deliver new projects and ambition to push the boundaries and deliver exceptional results

Ability to work both independently as well as in teams, across many countries

Media relations/PR/government affairs/corporate responsibility/marketing or communications experience would be helpful, but not essential

Experience of managing agencies would be helpful, but not essential
